Bible Study with Glenndy—Monday, Mar. 16, 9:30-10:45 a.m. Join the group for this study of the book of Luke.

Pub Theology—Mon., March 16, 6:00 p.m., at Hidden Haven. Join this group for some great conversation. Discussions are for Christians of any stripe: people who’ve been burned or burned out on church, those who believe in God, or don’t. Join the group for beverages and lively discussion.

Quilting Blocks in Stages—Tuesday, March 17  6:30 p.m. This group meets the first and the third Tuesdays. Join the group to work on mission quilts for places such as NACE Food Shelf, Alexandra House, and more.

Fiction Addiction Book Group—Tues., March 17, 6:30 p.m. On the 17th the group will discuss the book Things You Save In a Fire by Katherine Center. Meet at Lisa Bigelbach’s home: 3230 195th Ave. NW, Oak Grove. This group is open to you, your friends, and neighbors.

Thursday Morning Quilters—Thursday, March 18, 9:00 a.m. This group meets the 1st and 3rd Thurs. of each month.  Please join the group in making quilts for mission.

Lego Group for All Ages – Sunday, March 29, 11:15 a.m., join us in room 122 as we spend a couple hours assembling a variety of Lego sets.  Three to four sets will be provided, but feel free to bring your own if you’d like.  We’ll break into small groups for assembling kits. Bring a lunch from home. We’ll play and build until about 1:15 p.m. Since we will try to do this once-a-month, some space on a shelf in Glenndy’s office will be available for storing Legos that are partly assembled. See you on the 29th!


Children/Youth/Family

Register for Summer Camp at Wapo—Be sure to register for camp by TODAY—Details available in the Our Saviour’s Summer Camps and Programs brochure under the Children/Youth board.

Communion Instruction – Sat., March 28, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.  This class is open to any age. Parents/guardians, please plan to attend the class with your child. First Communion is celebrated on Maundy Thursday, April 9, at 6:30 p.m. Register online at oursaviourslc.org/forms.

Bible Instruction Class—Sat., March 28, 12:00 p.m., meet in the Worship Space. Grade 2 students, to receive your NLT Bible, you and a parent are asked to attend this Bible class. You will learn how to use your Bible and make a special Bible cover. Contact Kate, kroettger@oursaviourslc.org or 763-434-6117 ext. 116, if you are not able to attend the class or presentation. Grades 3, 4, and 5 students who would like more Bible training are encouraged to participate in this class. Be sure to bring your Bible.

Bibles for 2nd Graders—Sun., March 29 Bibles for 2nd grade students will be presented during the 8:30 and 10:00 a.m. services. Pizza Lunch will be served around 11:15 a.m., between Communion Class and Bible Class, for families attending both classes.

Service—
Sun., May 3, 10:00 a.m. worship. 2020 graduating high school seniors, join us in worship for this time of recognition, blessing, prayer, and gift of a handmade quilt from your church family. VBS: Rocky Railway—June 15-18, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., for age 4 thru grade 5 completed. Rocky Railway VBS has mountains of Bible-learning experiences: kids see, hear, touch, and even taste! Online registration has begun at oursaviourslc.org/forms. Space is limited; sign up early! Registration deadline is June 1. Cost is $30 for participant, $75 household maximum.

Lent Worship

Wednesday Lent Worship – March 4 through April 1
5:30 p.m. worship worship uses music from the Holden Evening Prayer service, a lyrical worship setting that you’ll find yourself humming all week long.
7:00 p.m. Revelation Worship—Wednesdays, 7:00 p.m. This half-hour worship includes a new music format, a new way of experiencing communion, and a new way of praying.

Wednesdays this Lent: God’s Love Revealed
This year, our Wednesday night dramas reveal God’s love through five Bible stories. Each drama reflects the struggles and questions we face in daily life, and how God’s love and the mercy of Jesus break through. Ash Wednesday and Holy Week services are separate from the drama series. 
March 18: This Is Not a Test, Part 2—Acts 2:1-21
March 25: Peter Speaks: A Visit With the Apostle—John 1:35-42, John 21:1-19
April 1: The Rich Man and Lazarus—Luke 16:19-31, Acts 10:43

Easter Breakfast—7:30-10:45 a.m. All are invited for breakfast Easter morning. Menu: pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage links, fruit, juice, coffee. Suggested donation: $6.00/person; family special—$20 family 4-pack, $30 family 6-pack. Proceeds will help send these youth to Charleston, West Virginia, for a 2020 Mission Trip.


March Happenings

Red Cross Blood Drive – Tues., March 17, 1:00-7:00 p.m. Save your blood for the Red Cross Blood Drive at Our Saviour’s. The American Red Cross is the nation’s largest blood collection organization, supplying more than 40 percent of the blood and blood products used in our country. Help is needed for the drive. Please consider helping with the sign in table or the cantina. Contact Carolyn Merk, 763-434-3660, if you would like to help.

Garden Team Plant Sale—March 22-April 19. Order your annual bedding plants in half or whole flats, 4 ½  inch potted annuals, 12 inch patio pots, and hanging baskets. Your order will arrive just in time for spring planting!  Order forms are available at the Reception Desk during office hours. Plant pick up will be Sat., May 9, 9:00–11:00 a.m. Payment is due at the time of plant pick-up, so no need to prepay. Any extra plants or baskets will be sold Sun., May 10, 8:30–11:30 a.m. 

TAKE NOTE: Seasoned Adult Ministry (SAM) trip to St. Mary’s has been cancelled. All payments will be refunded.

Sew Little Dresses for Africa—Thurs., March 26, 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., at Our Saviour’s. Come for as little or as much of the time as you like. Bring your sewing machine, a pair of scissors, and a bag lunch. Questions? Contact Betty Gabrick, 651-462-1573.

Mark Your Calendar

Under 55 Fellowship – Brunch & Cave Tour – Sat., April 4, 9:00 a.m.-12 noon, for ages 25-55. Brunch  will be 9:00 a.m. at Key’s Café & Bakery, 500 N. Robert St., St. Paul; Wabasha Street Cave Historic Tour will be at 11:00 a.m., 215 Wabasha St S, St Paul. Brunch and the Street Caves are 1.3 miles apart.  Please plan on some cost/time for parking. Join together for brunch and then hear and see the history of the Wabasha Street sandstone caves. We will explore the original mined caves and see the finished caves (once a romantic night club called The Castle Royal). Hear the great legends and how the caves have been used in the last 150 years. 45-minute walking tour. The caves are handicap accessible with ramps and bathrooms. Cave tour is $9 CASH only (no credit cards/ checks) There may be a parking cost.

Adult Education, Animate: the Bible—Sundays, April 19 and 26, May 3, 17, 24 and 31, 11:15 a.m.–12:15 p.m. Join a six-week exploration of our most important Book of Faith. A snack will be provided the first week. The learning model includes a journal/textbook which costs $16. It is most helpful if each participant has their own book. (If the cost is preventing you from coming, scholarships for books are available. Talk to Glenndy,  763-434-6117 ext 113 or gose@oursaviourslc.org. Please sign up on the Small Group board.

New Member Class—Sun., April 26, 11:15 a.m.-1:00 p.m.  Have you been worshiping at Our Saviour’s, attending a class here, or serving others through our small groups? Consider partnering with Our Saviour’s in a deeper way through membership. Lunch will be provided before class. Please sign up on the Small Group Ministry board.


Take Note

Easter Garden and Gift Form – On Easter Sunday our chancel will be graced with beautiful Easter plants. If you would like to donate a plant or make a donation in honor or in memory of a loved one, please complete an order form and return it to the church office no later than  Sun., March 29. The cost is $15.50 per plant. Forms are available at the Reception Desk or online at oursaviourslc.org on the Forms and Registrations page.

Construction is complete and you are invited to commemorate the completion of the state’s first purpose-built psychiatric residential treatment facility for children for a ribbon-cutting ceremony and tours. Electronic Giving

Do you give to Our Saviour’s electronically? In order to save the cost of the Simply Giving program, Our Saviour’s is switching to the automated giving program run through our membership program, ShelbyNext. For this transition, it is necessary for all Simply Giving participants to fill out a new form with giving information. These forms are shredded once the information has been entered.
