Dan Nordin

Associate Pastor 

Pastor Dan is from Lake Lillian in western Minnesota. He attended Bird Island High School and Augsburg College. He graduated from Luther Seminary in 1977.  Pastor Dan is married to Carolyn who is a Medical Transcriptionist for the radiology department of Minneapolis Children’s Hospital. 

Pastor Dan and Carolyn have two children: Ryan lives in a group home in Red Wing, MN; Michelle (massage therapist for LifeTime Fitness) is married to Jose Quevedo (from Venezuela) and they have two children, Daniela and Kaili.

Pastor Dan’s first call was at Zion Lutheran in Litchfield, MN (1977-1981). He then served as an associate pastor of our Savior’s Lutheran in Faribault, MN (1981-1988). He also served as an associate pastor at Shepherd of the Hills of Edina, MN (1988-1996). He was called as the senior pastor of Advent Lutheran in Maple Grove, MN (1996-2003). For the past 5 years Pastor Dan was the senior pastor of Shepherd of the Hills (2003-2008) where he was the associate pastor nine years prior.

Pastor Dan’s hobbies include woodworking, home remodeling, golf, and motorcycling. He has a passion to spend more time with his family and has a dream to be the general contractor of a retirement home in Lake City, MN.

When asked what he would do on a free day, Pastor Dan said, “I would have coffee with my wife, play with my granddaughters, read Fine Woodworking at the library, play a round (or two) of golf, plan my summer motorcycle trip to the Canadian Rockies, go for a long walk, and do some dreaming and designing of our retirement home (on the Jewel Golf Course in Lake City)."
