Why become a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church?
Membership is an intentional act that joins us with one another to partner and steward our God-given gifts, talents, and time for the sake of carrying out God’s mission in the world.
How do I become a member?
The life of a Christian is a journey. The journey begins at Our Saviour’s with worship and education. We conduct a New Member Orientation several times each year. The dates of these retreats are announced in worship and through our various publications. The orientation gatherings happen following Sunday morning worship at 10:45 a.m., beginning at noon.
The Next New Member Class - Sun., Oct. 10, 12:00-3:00 p.m.
You are a valued part of the church at Our Saviour’s. If you are interested in becoming a member, please come to this orientation. Please call the church office to reserve your lunch and tell us how many people will be attending with you.
Contact Barb Minder to be put on the mailing list for the next class.
What can I expect at the orientation?
The orientation begins with a meal, followed by presentations from our pastors and lay leaders in various ministries of the congregation. The purpose of the orientation is to inform those present of the many opportunities for service, worship, and education that are available through our congregation. Another purpose is to give those new to Our Saviour’s the opportunity to meet other people.
During this orientation, you will, among other things:
- Get acquainted and re-acquainted with themes from Scripture;
- Come to understand the Lutheran expression of the Christian faith and its rich history.
- Grow in your appreciation of Christian worship;
- Discover what your gifts/strengths are;
- Explore ways you might use those gifts at Our Saviour’s; and
- Have fun!
What’s my first step?
If you or someone you know is interested in joining Our Saviour’s, plan to attend the next seminar. To register, contact the church office.
