Many hands are needed to make worship happen each Sunday. Our Saviour's is blessed with so many willing disciples. Please consider joining our worship team by being a part of one of the following ministries. Contact the church office for more information or to sign up.
Leader Training
Wednesday, September 15, 6:30-8:30 p.m. See details...
Altar Care Team
Communing Youth and Adults
People on this vital team prepare the altar for worship, setting up communion before services and cleaning up after services. This team is a great spot for singles, couples, or families. Training is provided. Though you’d be welcome to serve as often as you like, most team members serve two months of the year and sign up to help with special services as they are able.
Communion Assistant
Grades 9-Adult
During worship, communion assistants serve the bread and wine to each communicant. They also speak a blessing to children who do not yet receive communion. Training is required and provided once in the spring and once in the fall. Consider serving as a communion assistant—you serve for about five minutes during worship and the rewards are priceless!
Paten Holders
Communing Youth and Adults
During worship, paten holders stand next to communion servers and hold the paten (wafer plate) for them. This is a great role for people who want to help with the distribution of communion in a quiet way. We ask that you attend communion assistant training to learn the ins and outs of being a paten holder. Training times are indicated above.
Nursery Attendants
Confirmation Age-Adult
If you love kids, this is the place for you! The Nursery is open
during 9:15 and
10:45 a.m. worship on Sunday mornings, September-May. During the
summer (June-August) the nursery is open during 10:00 a.m.
worship on Sundays. The nursery is staffed by people like you:
trained, caring adults, and youth. Dads and moms are encouraged
to team up together to help in the nursery. We require a
specific ratio of adults to children so that no one adult is
supervising more than 3 infants. Training is provided, and
background checks are processed for all adult volunteers. Our
primary goal is to provide a SAFE place for children.
Prayer Team
Prayers for Wholeness and Healing
During worship on the 1st Sunday and 2nd Wednesday of every month, Prayers for Wholeness and Healing are available to anyone who has a prayer concern for themselves or someone they know. Two prayer stations will be available during communion in the front of the church near the windows or in the back of the church near the windows. A small altar with candles, a kneeling bench, and someone who will pray for you and your concerns will be available at both sites.
Sunday Worship Prayer Team
A team of people prays from home before and during the Sunday worship services every week. They pray for the pastors, congregation, and all who enter in to worship. No need to gather or be in a specific place; members of this team pray where they are!
Prayer Chain Team
Do you have a caring spirit and spend time in prayer for others? Our Saviour's receives prayer requests from members and the community on a daily basis. Consider joining this diligent team as we lift our prayers to God. Receive e-mail messages from church staff requesting a prayer for someone in need. Team members may also choose to offer personal encouragement through notes and phone calls.
Prayers of the People
If you feel called to pray for the concerns of others, a prayer list is available for you to pick up at the Small Group Ministry board. The prayer list is updated weekly.
Scripture Reader
Confirmation Age-Adult
Scripture readers read the scripture lesson during worship. As a scripture reader, you would be responsible for getting the lesson from the church office in advance (this can be done via e-mail) and reading through it so you are familiar with it and feel comfortable with the reading. We appreciate the assistance of scripture readers at the Sunday 8:00, 9:15, and 10:45 a.m. worship services Sept.-May, as well as at the 8:30 and 10:00 a.m. services June-August. All it takes is a bit of prep time and then 2-3 minutes during worship. Sign up to read as often as you’d like!
Ushers
Sunday and Wednesday ushers pass out bulletins, assist worshipers in finding seats, collect the offering, guide worshipers to communion stations, count attendance, count money and secure it in the safe. Ushering is a great opportunity for all team players: singles, couples, and families. Training is required and is scheduled throughout the year as needed. Sign up to Usher for a worship service on the Sundays or Wednesdays of your choice, and at special worship services as you are able.
Reception Desk Volunteers
Reception Desk volunteers are often the friendly face visitors first meet. They assist the office staff with phone calls, registrations, and questions. The only skills required are a friendly smile and the ability to answer a phone.
