Groups meet at Our Saviour's unless otherwise indicated. For questions about any of these opportunities or to register, please contact the church office.
Clothing Closet
The Clothing Closet is now located in the same building as the Foodshelf and welcomes families who are in need to select free, used clothing. You are invited to donate your clean, used clothing. Donations can be dropped off at Our Saviour's in the bin behind the Reception Desk.
Fair Trade Exchange Coffee and Tea
Available once a month in the Gathering Space
The Fair Trade Small Group will be selling this coffee and
tea following worship on the first Sunday of each month. The
Lutheran World Relief (LWR) Fair Trade coffee project ensures
that more of the money you spend on coffee reaches the farmers
who actually grow it. Fair Trade coffee is a simple solution
that means the difference—quite literally—between surviving and
not surviving for small-scale coffee farmers.
Habitat for Humanity
Once a year, in the summer, disciples of Our Saviour's provide the labor to help build a house. This week-long venture utilizes volunteers in many capacities including: building, painting, roofing, siding, making lunches, donating lunches, and many more. There is also a Habitat for Humanity fund which anyone can contribute to. This money is donated to Habitat to continue Our Saviour's participation in the program.

Jesus Delivers
Thursdays, 12:00-5:00 p.m.
Jesus delivers is a mobile kitchen which brings lunch to the St. Paul homeless community, serving approximately 250 people a day, three days a week. Every Thursday, at least two volunteers from our Saviour's drive to St. Paul—usually with a vehicle full of clothing, sleeping bags, blankets, plates, water, and snacks like candy and chips. Donations to support this ministry come from the generosity of Sunday Hospitality, individuals, and its volunteers. We have also partnered with the food shelf and clothes closet to bring leftover items and perishables to the homeless from these ministries. Consider serving on a Thursday. You will find that you are the one who is blessed.
Jesus Delivers - Backpacks
At Christmas time, Jesus Delivers provides backpacks filled with everyday necessities to the homeless and low income people in St. Paul. These provide basic needs for men, women, and children of all ages. In 2009 over 50 volunteers helped to fill over 600 backpacks. The packs included socks, hats, gloves, hygiene items, prayer bracelets, as well as snacks and treats from many members of our congregation. You can help by donating back pack items (see link below) or helping to distribute the packs.

Jesus Delivers - Easter Baskets
Easter Baskets are assembled and distributed to the homeless in St. Paul. In 2008, 40-50 people (many young children) assembled 650 baskets which were distributed to the homeless as well as the North Anoka County Emergency Food Shelf, the St. Paul Food Shelf and the Clothing Closet. This is a great opportunity for families to serve together.
Meals on Wheels
Hot meals are distributed daily from Our Saviour's Lutheran Church to home bound seniors and disabled adults by volunteer drivers from area churches and organizations. If you are interested in delivering meals for your community contact Beth at the Anoka/Champlin Meals On Wheels at 763-236-8718.
Military Care Team
The Military Care Team collects
donated items to be packaged and sent to
soldiers overseas. Packages mainly are sent to Iraq and
Afghanistan. This ministry is funded by contributions received
from Sunday Hospitality. Ministry members host hospitality approximately four
times a year and assemble packages three times a year. If you
are looking for a very rewarding ministry consider donating
needed items or helping to assemble for mailing.

Do you know a soldier who would appreciate a care package? If you have the name and address of a soldier who would like to receive a care package, please submit the name and address to the church office.

Red Cross Blood Drives - Give the Gift of Life!
Watch for the next drive date!
Be sure to save your blood for the blood drive. Give blood and change a life, starting with your own. Every two seconds someone in America needs blood. The Red Cross serves as the bridge between over four million generous blood donors and millions of patients in need each year.
Two times a year Our Saviour's sponsors a Red Cross Blood drive. If you are 17 or older, please consider changing a life by donating blood. Age 16 youth are eligible to give blood with parental permission. Help is needed with coordinating the drive, greeting, organizing meals for the volunteers, serving at the canteen, and donating treats for the canteen. Of course, your blood is always appreciated as well. Consider helping to make this all possible.
