Banner Team

This team meets as needed throughout the year to produce seasonal banners for worship. We are always looking for creative minds to join us, as well as sewers.

Beading Ministry

Meets on the last Thursday of the month, 7:00 p.m.

On Thurs., Jan. 26, 6:00 p.m., the group will meet at Hidden Haven Restaurant. The group will share a meal and plan a new year of beading projects. New to beading? Come join us; you are always welcome.

Do you love to make things from beads? Do you want to learn to make things from beads? This group enjoys fellowship while making prayer beads, 23rd Psalm bracelets, and many other Christian gifts that are given out by the pastors and BeFrienders. The beaders have also made hundreds of beaded items to be given out to people who are hurting, hungry, and or sick.

Mittens for Mission

Learn how to make wool mittens from used wool sweaters (wool contents 80% or higher) while making mittens to warm the hands of homeless people in Minnesota. If you have a sewing machine, it would be great if you could bring it along, otherwise bring a pair of sharp scissors. Donations of fleece would be welcome for this project.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Do you enjoy knitting or crocheting? Consider making prayer shawls for those who would welcome the comfort of prayer. Prayer shawls are knit or crocheted by people from Our Saviour's. A prayer shawl is intended to be a reminder of God's ever present love which is as near to us as our own body is to our spirit. It is a gift for every time and every occasion, joyful or sorrowful, for every season and circumstance of life, when we are weeping or celebrating. Prayers are said over the shawl as it is being made and the knitter/crocheter dedicates it to God and His purposes. These shawls are distributed to those who are suffering from illness or grief.

Stamping Ministry

Second Saturday of the month, 9:00 a.m. No meeting in December.

Do you enjoy making cards? Would you like to learn to make cards? This group creates and donates cards to be used by the staff, Confirmation, First Communion students, and many other events that may arise.  They also maintain a self-serve greeting card stand, where folks can purchase any greeting cards they may need.  All proceeds are donated to the General Fund. This group has also grown to be a wonderful Christian support group.

Thursday Morning Quilters

Meets on the first and third Thursdays, 9:00 a.m.

The Thursday Morning Quilters meet twice a month to tie quilts for mission. Last year 48 quilts were given to Lutheran World Relief as well as the Alexandra House, Jesus Delivers, Habitat for Humanity, and needs within our own community. We welcome anyone who wishes to join us and learn to tie quilts while making new friends! If you can tie a knot, you can be part of this group!

Quilting Blocks in Stages

Meets on the first and third Tuesdays, 6:30 p.m.

Do you enjoy making quilts? Would you like to learn to quilt? Quilting Blocks in Stages meets twice a month and sponsors three quilt retreats each year. Together they work on projects for themselves as well as mission quilts that are donated to places such as: The Linus Project (a project giving blankets to sick children in local hospitals), Habitat for Humanity, Benefit for Breast Cancer (in the form of a silent auction/raffle), North Anoka County Emergency Food Shelf, Alexandra House (for mothers and children who are victims of domestic abuse), and more.
